Paying for something should not create a record somebody else gets to sell.
ShyPay is a small, pre-launch company building a self-custody wallet for ordinary payments. This page is what we are trying to do, how the company is arranged, and exactly how far along it is.
Keep the identity checks where the law puts them, and stop collecting the rest.
Every card payment you make is copied to a network, an issuer, and a chain of processors, and in aggregate that is a detailed commercial profile of you. None of it is necessary for the payment itself to work. It is a by-product of how the rails were built.
ShyPay is an attempt to build the payment without that by-product. Identity checks stay where the law requires them: all cash-in and cash-out goes through a regulated provider that verifies identity. What changes is narrow and specific. ShyPay does not collect what you buy, and payments are not routed through card networks. Payments are public on the Solana ledger.
Four principles we would like to be judged against.
These are commitments, not achievements. The product is not launched, so treat them as the standard we are asking you to hold us to.
Say the uncomfortable part
Solana is public. Self-custody means lost keys are lost funds. ShyPay is not a bank and your balance is not insured. A privacy product that starts by shading the truth has already failed.
Collect what is needed and nothing more
We cannot lose, leak, or be compelled to hand over data we never took. The safest record of your groceries is the one that was never written down.
Never hold what is yours
Keys stay on your device. Identity documents stay with the regulated provider that is required to hold them. ShyPay is not a place where your assets or your identity sit.
Make approval mean something
Nothing moves without a deliberate act by you, with the real amount and the real recipient in front of you. No silent pulls, no pre-authorisations, no quieter second number.
Two companies, one owner, disclosed on purpose.
ShyPay, LLC builds the consumer wallet. ProxyPay is the merchant payment system. ShyPay and ProxyPay are separate companies under common ownership, and that relationship is disclosed to our providers and partners. They are built to run on separate systems, and ShyPay does not receive merchant records or what you bought. We publish that relationship because a privacy product that quietly shared data with an affiliate would be the exact thing we are arguing against.
Built to run separately
The two are being built on separate systems rather than as one product wearing two names.
ShyPay does not receive merchant records
It does not receive merchant sales records, and it does not collect what you bought.
Common ownership is not a secret
We would rather publish the relationship than have a reviewer discover it.
Disclosed to partners
The relationship is declared to the providers and counterparties we work with, not just on this page.
The services this is designed to use.
ShyPay is being built to use Dynamic for wallet key management and Ramp Network for buying and selling USDC; these integrations are in development and are subject to those providers’ approval and terms. Solana is the settlement network for USDC. Naming these services describes an intended architecture. It is not a claim of endorsement, certification, or a signed partnership by any of them.
Hold us to the page you just read.
If any claim here stops being true, it should come off the site. Tell us at hello@shypayments.com if you catch one before we do.
